
Her landscape paintings, which she describes as 'poetic landscapes’ have their starting point in observation of the natural world but she describes them as ‘invented scenes conveying the essence of a place and mood rather than literal photographic depictions’.
Sally won the Cass Art sponsored Life Painting Prize 2016 at Hampstead School of Art and has exhibited widely including at the Mall Galleries (Pastel Society Annual Exhibition 2025), Hampstead Art Society at the Fitzrovia Gallery 2022, Art House, Picture the Heath and others.
Her paintings are featured on book covers and she undertakes many commissions. Hyman’s work is in many private collections UK and worldwide. She lives in London.
Sally Hyman is a figurative painter working in oils. She brings an evocative series of Hampstead Heath landscape paintings to the Affordable Art Fair following the success of her solo show HeathScapes at Burgh House.
