Singapore-based British Indian artist Kavita Issar Batra draws inspiration from the unnoticed often discarded fragments of nature and urban life encountered during her daily walks. Born in the Himalayas and trained in the UK and Singapore, her practice blends photography, printmaking, painting, and assemblage.
Using her iPhone, she captures spontaneous moments—fallen leaves, wire, petals, bark—preserving their raw, unaltered beauty. These become the foundation for process-led works exploring transience, decay, and renewal. Her intuitive use of layering, erosion, and natural elements reflects the rhythms of time and nature.
Kavita invites viewers to pause, observe, and find meaning in the overlooked. Her work celebrates the quiet poetry of everyday surroundings and the beauty of impermanence.
Her art has been in numerous group and solo exhibitions and is in collections across the world.
